Towing - Transcend Tiny Homes
Is my truck capable of towing my tiny home?
This is one of the best things about our lightweight, composite construction. Our tiny homes are much lighter and stronger than conventional built tiny homes. Our 24ft homes come in around 8,000 lb total dry weight. Once you start looking around at other tiny homes, you will understand just how low that number is.
A lighter Tiny Home means, when it comes to towing, you can use a less rated truck and use less fuel when moving.
This is a subject that seems to be avoided in the Tiny Home circles. Do not make the mistake of ignoring or "guestimating" your towing and weight ratios.
Exceeding weight limits causes unsafe driving conditions that can jeopardize your safety on the road.
There is only one sure-fire way to determine how much your truck can safely tow.
Take your truck to your local dealer. They can tell you how your particular truck is equipped for towing based on your vehicle's V.I.N. (Vehicle Identification Number). Only then can you be sure. We cannot emphasize enough the importance of educating yourself on this subject. We can't tell you exactly what to do, you have to start at your local dealer.
