What is the roof on a Transcend Tiny Home?

Composite building is nothing short of a paradigm shift.

Here is a big word. Paradigm.

  • par·a·digm  ˈperəˌdīm/ noun: paradigm;
Technical: A typical example or pattern of something; a model. The way things are normally done.
An old friend of mine once said to me, "forget everything you know and walk in backwards." In order to embrace new technology you sometimes have to look at it with new eyes or you may miss the concept.

Our roof is so simple that it takes a minute to sink in just how simple it is.

  • It has no shingles to blow off in the wind.
  • It has no screws to loosen up and leak like a metal roof.
  • It has no wood underlayment to rot or mildew.
  • It has no ridge vent to maintain.

Our roof is a single sheet of phenolic resin fiberglass that we coat with an elastomeric coating.

We recommend that you inspect it once a year, just for good measure. It may need a fresh coat of elastomeric paint once every 10 years. It just rolls on very simple.

You can walk on this roof. It's stronger than most any roof you will ever walk on.

Very smart. Very Efficient. A truly elegant solution for a tiny home.
